Please take time to read this entire message. The material at the bottom is no less important. Your help is needed to make Nevada a safer place for gun owners.

First things first. Has anyone heard from the Sheriff on our most recent email alert? GONV representatives called a number of times and asked to speak to the Sheriff and were told he was “unavailable.” When asked for his voice mail, we were given an email address to leave a message. Apparently the Sheriff of Clark County does not have voicemail?!

In the event you are not aware of what is at stake, check out GONV’s most recent alert. Law abiding citizens should not be treated as criminals. The voice of Nevada must be heard and our elected Sherriff needs to hear from you!! Silence at a time like this will assure that things will never change.

Secondly, and equally as important, now is the time to insure that everyone who is running for the Nevada State Legislature is pro-gun. And not just that they talk the talk. GONV’s position is that if a candidate is not an avid supporter of the Second Amendment then GONV will not support them and will insure that their constituents are aware of their anti-gun bias. This is where your help is needed. Each person receiving this should contact any candidate running for the Nevada State Legislature and tell them you are waiting to see their answers to the GONV Gun Rights Questionnaire. If you get an email from a candidate, you should respond by sending them this questionnaire.

Here is the questionnaire for all candidates running for the Nevada State Legislature. Even those not in your district should be contacted.

You need to make a promise. You need to promise not to support another politician who does not care about the Second Amendment. You need to promise me that you will not support another Nevada politician that is anti-gun, willing to take away your right to self defense from the coziness and security of elected office. New results can only be achieved with a new direction. Nevada cannot afford to keep going backwards. If change is to be made it is up to you to speak up and to elect new leaders. GONV needs you. Join the cause and get others who care passionately about their rights to join also.

Lastly, please go here and read Ben Robinson’s most recent article. Ben has done another fantastic job of encapsulating what is wrong with gun rights in Nevada. As if you needed someone to tell you. For those lured by the call of the Wild West, who are new to Nevada, this state is far less free then you imagine. By reading Mr. Robinson’s articles, you can fully understand the problems. By understanding the enormity of the issue you can be part of the solution.

I’m here to tell you that there is hope. Every day more people sign up for GONV EMAIL ACTION ALERTS. Every day more people join GONV and have their voices heard. But more are needed. GONV urges you to tell friends to join the EMAIL ACTION ALERTS. It’s vital, and by raising our voice in Carson City, Nevada can become safer for gun owners.

If everyone reading this message asked two or three of their friends to join the GONV EMAIL ACTION ALERTS, that would go a long way toward helping achieve the numbers needed to be effective in the next legislative session. Really, don’t wait. It is that important. Nevadan’s cannot afford to have more laws that set back the rights of law abiding gun owners. Nevadan’s cannot afford to be in fear of exercising our unalienable rights.
